Who else would start preparing for a wedding centuries back??
And that too when He could have done it in just a wink of time???
His plans do seem weird and disappoint us along the way. But, I’ve gotta admit this, Nobody prepares a grand finish like You LORD!!
For a
prophesy said centuries back, an old couple waited years to bear a
child. Him, being the priest and not getting answers to His prayer would
have struck ODD to the entire community. But it was this unanswered prayer that fulfilled a promise to the mankind.
Malachi 3:1
“See,
I am sending my servant, and he will make ready the way before me; and
the Lord, whom you are looking for, will suddenly come to his Temple;
and the angel of the agreement, in whom you have delight, see, he is
coming, says the Lord of armies.”
Isaiah 40:3
“A voice of one crying, Make ready in the waste land the way of the Lord, make level in the lowland a highway for our God.”
Matthew 3:3
“For this is he of whom Isaiah the prophet said, The voice of one
crying in the waste land, Make ready the way of the Lord, make his roads
straight.”
John 1:23
“He said, I am the voice of one crying in the waste land, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said Isaiah the prophet.”
John the baptist could not have born at a better timing!!
He was in
time for his purpose in life. He was right on time for the fulfillment
of prophecies. He was on time for the ministry God had planned out
through him.
His parents
might have heard a million promises over the years. They might have
waited and might have wearied with the wait. Still, Zachariah had to get
up to the pulpit every week and speak about the faithfulness of God.
And that’s exactly what we are supposed to do too.
It may sound like the worst command you could hear right now. But, let’s keep the wait and run the race with faithfulness.
Be not disheartened nor give up.
Always the wait is unbearable and highly frustrating. All you long for is some action and He keeps telling you to WAIT.
And that’s when complete obedience is called for. It is tougher than you think.
But being in His waiting room now, I can assure you IT IS WORTH THE WAIT ; for He loves grand finales!
His timing is impeccable, perfect and often beyond our dreams and understanding.
MY GOD IS NEVER LATE.
HE IS ALWAYS ON TIME!!!
